Although the Mako is designed for the more for the intermediate/advancing foiler, it is still an appropriate first board for a progressive beginner who is seeking a board that they will not soon outgrow.  This board has a center channel to create a high downward pressure on the board’s center, which assists you popping up on foil, while the boxier rails move some of the volume out to the sides of the board for greater stability and easier release from the water when popping up into foiling mode. The full nose and tail outline give the board good balance and ample volume for its relatively short length.
