Nordic Skate Boots are designed specifically for skate skiing, which involves a push-off technique similar to ice skating. These boots are characterized by a rigid/solid hinged ankle cuff for providing lateral ankle stability and support for pushing the ski in a diagonal/lateral motion.  Skate boots will also have a stiffer sole for transmitting energy for strong kick-off with the entire sole, which is crucial for the push-off motion in skate skiing.
